A Palace For Kings And Art

First on our list of monuments to visit was the Louvre. I have been there a few times in the past and never felt quite moved by it, nor by the exterior nor by the art on display. This time however, I saw it with totally different eyes, forcing me to drastically alter my opinion. Was it the season, or the nice weather that day that is responsible for this? Or has my taste developed, .... or dare I say .... ripened, matured? Perhaps that tells me I may have been an ignorant fool in my younger years, preoccupied with a too narrow range of interests.

Anyway, the place certainly has a regal vibe, a majestic sense that leaves no doubt that France is a nation with an influencing rich past, both in politics and art.

Ofcourse...Marquis de la Fayette was French, he was a general and a diplomat during the American Revolution.
Benjamin Franklin lived between 1777 and 1785 in Paris. Not all Americans are alike.
