The last time I was in Paris was in 1987, 21 years ago! Surprisingly not much has changed during two decades. Although I nearly didn't pronounce a word of French during all that time, my tongue and memory quickly warmed up to it and the Parisians still guessed me to be Italian. It was a fabulous experience to be back after such a long period. In the following posts I will occasionally express some of my observations as an Americanized expatriate.
I enjoyed enormously the visit from a friend from Austin, who arranged to be in Paris for a day during a business trip to London and Brussels, and my aunt and cousin, who drove down from Belgium to spend a day with us. My heartfelt thanks for their effort and friendship!
