Apollo's Fountain

In this small painting of three of Apollo's horses pulling the chariot while Triton blowing on his conch shell paves the way through the Bassin d'Apollon - Apollo's Fountain - outside the Palais de Versailles, France, the fountain is in full operation spewing water up in the air and forming dense curtains of rain all around and over the sculpture, reducing its forms to dark silhouettes.
